Now in its fifth year, The Lifted Brow & RMIT non/fictionLab Prize for Experimental Non-fiction is here again, and now open for entries.
This year's judges are Timmah Ball, Chris Kraus and Quinn Eades.
This prize encourages non-fiction writers to challenge themselves by testing the limits of their craft and creativity. We aim to unearth new, audacious, authentic and/or inauthentic voices from both Australia and the world.
We seek work that is unlike any other. We want to hear from writers we’ve never read before, and we want writers we already know and love to challenge themselves to create work unlike any they’ve previously produced.
The winner will receive AU$5000 and publication in an upcoming issue of The Lifted Brow, and two runners-up will each receive $500.
Entry fee is AU$7 or free for subscribers of the Lifted Brow (go ahead, you can subscribe here) and RMIT students and alumni.
Get writing! Entries close midnight on May 1st.
